Happy Mother’s Day to all my readers who are Mothers and Grandmothers.
As a mother (and grandmother) our home is always bustling in the morning with so much to get organised before we fly out the door. If your mornings are busy, like mine, I think you will really enjoy this new recipe. This is my all time favourite smoothie recipe. Super quick and easy, this breakfast will get you out the door with ease on busy mornings and will totally set you up with tons of energy for your day.
I love adding fiber to my smoothies because fiber is so important for a healthy digestive system and getting/maintaining your perfect weight.
Most people have between 10-15 grams of fiber in a day but, for optimum health and weight reduction, women should take in 40-60 grams of fiber and men at least 50 grams.
So, how to we easily supplement our fiber intake? Add a fiber supplement that contains both soluble and insoluble fiber is an easy and healthy way to up your fiber intake. We actually need 13 (yes 13!) kinds of soluble and insoluble fiber in our diets.
My Berry Breakfast Smoothie will provide you with ½ of your daily fiber needs and set you up with a ton of energy.
It’s also delicious and super easy to make. I take my nutritional supplements with it (multivitamin, omega-3, vitamin D and probiotic) and am set to teach my fitness classes, weight train or go for a power walk before my office workday begins. This smoothie will also keep your blood sugar even with the combination or fiber, healthy protein, carbs and fat.
For those of you that are looking for a perfect post workout protein drink, this smoothie will provide you with plenty of protein to refuel your muscles.
