Guacamole is considered one of the best-loved salsas in Mexico. Avocados are of full healthy fats (EFA’s) and have more protein than any other fruit.
I have been making Guacamole for years and have tried just about every recipe imaginable in my search for the BEST flavor and texture (with a little bit of zing). After my latest trip to Mexico, I really feel that this recipe is the best guacamole recipe you will find, anywhere!
Our latest trip was to Puerto Vallarta. We left on February 21st & spent a month exploring & tasting the most wonderful sites & flavors of this beautiful part of the world.
What worked really well was going out to restaurants every second day & cooking for ourselves on the nights we didn’t go out. This way we got to try some of the amazing (& reasonably priced restaurants) plus enjoyed the creativity of cooking at home.
My other favorite day adventure was heading up to our pool on the roof & enjoying a simple lunch of guacamole & fresh tortilla chips. It was a lovely way to pass an afternoon.
I have to say though, after tasting some of the best guacamole anywhere, here is the best guacamole recipe that I have come up with:
The Best Guacamole Recipe:
Ingredients
4 large ripe Avocados-peeled and mashed
1 medium tomato-finely chopped
¼ white onion-diced
½ seeded green jalapeño pepper-very finely diced
2-3 cloves of garlic mashed with a garlic press
Juice of 1 lime
Celtic salt-just a pinch
¼ cup of fresh cilantro-chopped
Method
Make sure your avocados are really ripe. Remove pits, mash and combine with all the other ingredients. I make this about 1-2 hours ahead of time to allow all the flavors to combine plus bring out the garlic.
Serve with Gluten-Free Red Organic Corn chips for a colorful appetizer that your guests will love.
With Cinco de Mayo coming up, here are some other recipes that pair well with the Best Guacamole Recipe
