
It’s hot outside & you could be looking for a delicious way to cool down-without adding dairy or excess sugar. The humble banana could be your answer. Today we are creating a homemade no dairy ice cream to beat the heat!
This super easy to make homemade no dairy ice cream is delicious, healthy and a great way to cool down in the summer. As you will read, bananas are the key to a delicious homemade ice cream.
The variations you can make are only limited to your imagination. I’ve given you a few to start with.
Apart from the variations in your homemade no dairy ice cream I’m going to show you a few ways to really make your summer treat spectacular! Voila!
Homemade no Dairy Ice Cream
Ingredients
4 large very ripe bananas Optional: 1-2 tbsp. of Almond milk
Variations:
Raspberry, Chocolate Chip:
1 c. frozen raspberries ½ c. dark chocolate chips
Peanut or Almond butter
2 tbsp. natural peanut or almond butter
Cinnamon treat
1 c. chopped walnuts 1 tsp cinnamon
Mango Mango
1 cup frozen chopped mango
Strawberry Almond
1 c. Frozen Strawberries 1/2 c. chopped almonds
Chocolate Monkey
2 tbsp. dark chocolate sauce
Method
Peel bananas and slice into ½ inch pieces. On a large plate of baking sheet, arrange the bananas in a single layer. Freeze for 11/2-2 hours. Using a powerful blender or food processor, puree frozen banana slices until the mixture is creamy and smooth. Add 1 of the variations above or another variation of your choice and puree. If you would like a bit more creamy texture you can add 1-2 tbsp. of almond milk. For a soft serve ice cream version you will want to serve immediately. If you would like a harder version that can be scooped, just place in the freezer for a few hours. Serve in a desert dish with your favourite healthy toppings!
Additions for a homemade dairy free ice cream desert:
