Well Spring is finally here and personally I love this season of the year. It’s that time of the year when nature renews and restores itself. Many people take the time as the days get lighter to ‘spring clean’ our homes, getting rid of all the clutter that’s accumulated through the winter and deep cleaning both the outside and inside of our homes. This is the perfect time to Rock our Immune System.
With the Covid-19 Virus taking over much of our beautiful world and our daily thoughts/lives, here are some of my top suggestions to rock your immune system and create your most positive life right now.
Fresh Air and Sunshine
With the weather warming up, take some time for you to enjoy walking in the fresh air. The combination of fresh air, sunshine and exercise will help remove toxins from your body and clear out the cobwebs and negative thoughts from your mind.
Practice Gratitude
Begin a 30-day (or longer) morning (or evening) gratitude journal. I have found that this simple act of recognizing all I have to be thankful for in this life can have a huge impact on my emotions, weight and my health. I give all my clients a food, feeling, exercise and gratitude journal for the first 30 days of our health coaching in person and on-line programs.
Start your Day
My husband and I start our day with a glass of water and ½ a lemon. This one change we added to our morning routine alkalizes our bodies for the day . It’s a great idea to sip water and lemon (or lime) throughout the days as well to keep a correct acid-alkaline balance.
Shop Local for Vitamin C
I always recommend that my clients for local fruits and vegetables. Fresh, locally grown organic fruits and vegetable contain so many more nutrients than store bought ones who have lost much (or all) or their vitamin and mineral content due to being picked before they ripen and then being shipped. In a recent study an orange was picked in Florida and the Vitamin C content was measured. The orange was shipped to Vancouver, Canada and the orange was then measured again for its Vitamin C content. It might surprise you to know that the orange measured zero remaining Vitamin C by the time it reached Vancouver. Research tells us that today we need to eat 8 oranges in 2015 to equal 1 orange in 1908. On that note . . .
Take high Quality Nutritionals
Make sure that you are taking a high quality pharmaceutical grade multi-vitamin, multi-mineral complex* and at least 2000-4000 IUs of Vitamin D to give your cells all the nutrition they need. This is to fill in all the gaps even in a healthy diet.
